NorCal Voyagers Club
Modesto Club Meeting
7-14-01

This was a pretty basic meeting we met at Cafe Orleans in Modesto right off of 99 and Kansas Ave.  We mainly discussed the Poker run which has been relocated probably to Roseville.  We also discussed the purchase of T-Shirts. Uncle Ray is working ourt the details with a local TShirt guy in Fresno.  Here are a couple of pictures from the get together.
Hello NCVC Members,
We held our monthly meeting for July on the 14th and it was held in Modesto, we had a total of nine members to attend, Eight of them made the meeting and the ninth one arrived just as we were finishing up the meeting, Those in attendance were, CG Greer (vice president), Don & Doris Brubaker, Referee  & secretary, Stuart Bowen web master & editor, Duane Stark, Frank Boyer, & my self. And than we had two members that have never made a meeting before, There was Jim Clabaugh, I have been communicating with him for almost a year and have never been able to meet him, In fact I was beginning to think he was just a figment of my imagination, But you can take my word for it, he is real.
The other member was Wayne Bright, he has been a member of our fine organization for about three months now, I gave him an invitation to attend the meeting, but he declined, his grand daughter was flying into Sacramento therefore he had to go pick her up. I think the lure of other motorcycle riders being there in Modesto as he was passing through got the best of him, And he just had to stop by and say hello.  We were all very glad he did, I even got to meet his lovely wife, It’s always nice to meet other members you have never meet before, That’s the way great friendships are formed.
We talked about the poker run, and the food drive we are working on for the Salvation Army, The food drive is coming along very nicely and should be ready to go when we get back from R/R.  The poker run is some what at a stand still, the motorcycle dealer we had our hopes pined on went out of business, So we are going to see what the American Legion Hall can do for us, Or was it the VFW.  Any way it’s on hold until we return from R/R, and Don will get back on it.  We also talked about the tee shirts with the silk screened club logos on them, We can’t afford to have the stencils made up and than buy the shirts too, If we did that a shirt (XL) would cost us pretty close to $30.00 each.  So what we are going to do is sit down with the owner and do some horse trading, If all goes well we will get the stencils made up for free, than we can purchase the shirts and sell them for a small profit.
The prices are posted on our web site.  We won’t know anything until we get back From R/R; it seems like nothing is going to move until we return from R/R doesn’t it, but I will keep you posted.  For those of you who aren’t making the trip to R/R, we want you to know we are going to miss you, and we hope you miss us too.  While we are gone you guys ride safely and enjoy your selves, Oh and keep an eye on the web site, there may be some pictures coming in from R/R for you to look at, Cheers.
