The riders left Vallejo around eight and drove to San Francisco. Their first stop was to look at a Corvette show that was being staged on the lawn of the Ferry building near the wharf. The group made their way down the Embarcadero to famous Lombard Street for another photo op. George lead the group over the Golden Gate and into the vista point for a quick break and a few more photo's. Unfortunately, the Bay Area fog had been hanging in most of the morning. Phil then led the group to Fort Cronkhite, which is located on the coast line just northwest of the Golden Gate. The fort has a lot of history behind it and the scenery was magnificent. The riders highly recommend visiting Fort Cronkhite for anyone that is in the area.
The ride continued on up Highway 1 to Stinson Beach and lunch at the Sand Dollar Restaurant. After lunch, the riders continued up scenic Highway 1, eventually turning inland towards Navado and on to Vallejo and the starting point. It was a wonderful day and a great ride. It would have been nice to have more riders in attendance, but a good time was had by all.
