Several chapter members of the AVA were present at the first annual Don Laughlin’s Fun Run held in Laughlin, NV. The CalNevAri chapter president and wife, Bill & Bernedette Overton were there. The past president and wife of the SoCal chapter, Mike and Shirley Wong were also present. NorCal was represented by Don and Doris Brubaker.

The vendors numbered between 10 and 14 with a good rang of items being sold. They were set up along side fenced in bike parking only area. To get your bike out of this area, you had to show your drivers license with your registration, which they checked against the VIN number on your bike. The area had a armed guard around the clock.

The poker runs were alot fun. We were putting up with the winds that were later going to fan the flames in Southern Cal.. They were causing white/brown outs so dense that you couldn’t see the bike in front of you. Those of us who had fog and driving lights turned them on for added safety. These areas were few and only lasted a short while.

The walking poker run was fun with all the stops being at bars inside the Riverside Hotel.

All in all, we had a great time and would do it again next year.
