Our April 25/26 get together at Turlock Lake put on by John & Dottie Adkins was alot of fun.

The state campground we stayed at was very nice and John made two trips from his home so we would have enough wood for the camp fire. We got sprinkled on a little Friday night, not that much, on our way to dinner. John knows this area so he was able to take us on some real nice roads. Staying at the camp ground was myself, my sister Mary Jo Brubaker, John and Bill Owens.

On Saturday Bob Webb and George Rogers rode in on their bikes and the Gimp Mobile (Ray's rig) rolled in with Ray Walls, Fred Andrews and Bob Hayes. We had a club meeting (see minutes on website) that lasted to about 11:00.

The Gimp Mobile rolled out soon after and the rest of us went on to the Castle Air Museum. The museum is set up for guided or self tours. They have planes spanning from W.W.II to Saber Jets to the SR71. They even have a prop drone made by Kawasaki. The engine is a air cooled boxer (see pic). Bob and George left for home after the tour and our camping group took off with John in the lead. We ended up at a little place that has great hamburgers and Harley's out front. Mr. Adkins even taught us a little Spanish, Hornitos = Little Oven, plus I got a H for my Grand Tour folder. (see pic).

That night we sat around the campfire telling war stories and lies, and loving every minute of it. You all missed a good one.

All in all it was a great campout. I would like to thank John and Dottie Adkins for giving us a good time in their neck of the woods.
