Bob & Shirley Webb's House
Hello NCVC members. We had the club's Christmas party last night at Bob &
Shirley Webbs home in Vacaville. We had 22 members there, a very nice turn
out. But it could have been better, but than again I guess it could have
been worse too. Shirley had a very nice spread laid out for us, she even
cooked a turkey and chicken wings. Everything was quite tasty & plentiful.
Everyone brought a gift so everyone got one to. We played the take away
gift game. Someone brought a portable air compressor that went back and
forth between about 3 people for what seemed like forever. I think Bob
Webb finally wound up with it. Than there was the gift box of Crown Royal
a 7.1 liter bottle that changed hands about 3 or 4 times. Dale Bird picked
a vibrator. Now don't ask me what it's supposed to be used for, because I
really don't know. Anyway he couldn't even give it away. But you can't say
he didn't try. I think he finally did get rid of it, but I don't remember
who to! I think everyone had a nice time and plenty of fun picking &
swapping gifts. And than of course there was all the BS sessions too. We
even had a volunteer to host the Christmas party next year, Wayne & Sandra
Bright will host it in Clovis, which is right next door to Fresno. So now
you all know where it's going to be and we will put the date on our event
schedule for 2005. I would like for everyone to mark that date down and
plan to attend. Wayne & Sandra are real party gore's and really know how
to put on the Ritz. So as Monty says COME ON DOWN.
I asked for some volunteers to fill board positions for 2005. So far the
only one's I have are the ones that are in office now. You know there is
such a thing as burn out. I will take the Presidents job for one more
year. That will make me five (5) years. I think that's long enough for one
person to hold one position. Bob Webb is still thinking about staying on
as Vice President. Bob Joyner has volunteered to stay on as secretary, And
Wayne Bright has accepted another year as treasurer. We still need someone
as activities & events director. We can live without a referee. But we
must have the other one.
I have been thinking very seriously about just closing the club down if we
don't start getting more help from the membership. Heck, no job we have
will take over an hour a month of your time. So what's the big deal here
anyway.
I've said my piece and the rest is up to you (the members) Our next
meeting will be at the Wool Growers Restaurant in Los Banos on 1-27-05.
It's on the North end of 5th street. 5th street dead ends at the railroad
tracks and the Wool Growers is on your right. South East corner. Time
12:00PM
Everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Most Happy New Year. Cheers.
