Hello NCVC members & friends. It looks like we are in luck on our July 17th & 18th overnighter. I have found a lodge in Quincy. They have 18 rooms available for the 17th.
I have them all blocked off. The name of the Lodge is the Lariat lodge. The phone number is 530-283-1000. Call after 3:00pm and ask for Bill. Incase Bill isn’t there when you make your reservations. Be sure to tell them you are with the Nor Cal Voyagers or they may tell you they have no rooms available. The rates are very reasonable one person, queen bed, $52.00, king bed, one person $55.00. Two persons two queen beds $64.00. Thy have a couple of rooms with three beds. 2 rooms that are smoking, the rest are none smoking. We have a cut off date of July the 5th for holding the rooms. Anyone that doesn’t have reservations by then will be on your own.
I have found there is a very large arts & craft fair in Graeagle on that weekend. Graeagle is right at the junction of hwy 89 & 70. For those who enjoy the crafts, this would be a good time to mix this with the train trip.
For those of you who aren't sure you want to make this excursion and would like more information. Go on the web, type in Feather River rail society and than click on search. This will bring up the museum in Portola.
I was on their web site and forgot to get the web address. For those of you who do not have web access you can get a friend or go to the local library and they will help you use the computer.
I would like for everyone that plans on going to let me know when you have made your reservations. So I can keep track of the room activity. I would also like for everyone to be there by 6:00pm on the 17th.
I want to make dinner reservations at a steak house just down the street from the lodge. Here again I will need to know how many people we will have for making the reservations. Any questions, Please call or contact me @ 559-227-3045 or cwalls64@aol.com .
This should be a very nice weekend event. It would be nice to see a lot of you out and about. So come on up and enjoy some cool weather with your friends.
