June 15, 16, 17 and 18th were the dates for the Nor-Cal motorcycle club June function. The campout/ride was held at the Bootleg Campground, which is located on Highway 395, approximately 20 miles north of Bridgeport, California.
Although, only six members attended the function, a lot of fun was had by all. The weather was beautiful and the scenery was magnificent, especially in the Sonora Pass area. There was still a lot of snow in the mountains and lots of water running in the rivers.
Great dinner meals were provided Bob Lee and Sandy Joyner. Ray Walls provided fresh corn on the cob for each meal and the others provided hearty appetites! Bob Joyner built a campfire every night so everyone could sit around and BS. On Saturday, Ray, Wayne and Monte went on a day ride over Monitor Pass (Hwy. 89) to see the Carson River and rode into Markleeville for lunch.
After lunch, the threesome rode up to sight see in Carson City. They said they never dropped a nickel, but we are not too sure about that. Anyway, while they were gone, Bob Lee, Bob and Sandy went fishing. They came back complaining about high water and murky conditions. However, Bob Joyner did catch one Rainbow Trout, Sandy put on the Bar B and would you believe he wouldn't even share it with the rest of the crew.
Sunday, everyone packed up and headed for home except Bob and Sandy who continued on to Missoula, Montana for a month. Hope to see more people at the next event, if for nothing else come along for a day ride.
