San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area is located in Merced County near the Pacheco Pass in San Joaquin Valley. During the summer months this valley sports beautiful rolling rusty-brown hills of dry grass and few trees.

Location/Directions - The Basalt Campground is located at the San Luis Reservoir, take Interstate 5 to Highway 152,and then west to the San Luis Reservoir and the campgrounds
