3rd Annual Jeff Ryan Motorcycle Awareness Day and Bike Show. On Jan. 27th 2006 we lost our 18 yr old son to a motorcycle accident. He was young and full of life and love. He was passionate about riding and loved the freedom of being on a motorcycle. Not only are we doing this to keep his memory alive, but we also want to let everyone know that we are all on the roads together. We need to watch out for one another.
We had our first ever Jeff Ryan Motorcycle Awareness Day in June 2006. There were some proceeds that was put aside to start the Jeff Ryan Memorial fund which will help assist families who have lost loved ones in motorcycle tragedies.
This is an annual event that the family and friends of Jeff Ryan are excited about. So come out and help us celebrate Jeff's life and passion with great music, food, a bike show, motorcycle safety demonstration, vendors and fellowship. Raffles with prizes. Jumpers and face painting for the kids. We welcome all riders and there clubs that would like to attend as well as their families and friends.

We would like to let you know that over the past to years we have had a dual sport ride at our event. This year the route and destination will change. We have reps from Redding Dirt Riders, Heels on Wheels, Blue Knights, Motor Maids, STAR, Redding HOG, Scooterville and Shascade Wings who were involved in the planning of the rides last year. Here's info on the 2008 event and would appreciate it if you could share the info with your club.
$25 Pre-registration gets you event pin, t-shirt (select your correct size - styles for men and women), secure parking at Convention Center PLUS Stamp Ride Competition (guided rides - street bikes, dual sports, sport bikes, and scooters too, motorcycle safety instruction), TWO poker runs, Bike Games and Bike Show Competition. $30 on-site registration gets you event pin and t-shirt (limited to sizes available on hand - mens' style only). Police Green Light Escort cruise - limited to 500 motorcyclists. Entertainment including performances from the Oakland Police Drill Team and music. Motor police competition (open to all motor officers) hosted by the Redding Police Department. Indoor dealer show, merchandise vendors (outside and inside Convention Center), food vendors, Sunday worship service and bike blessing. Activities for children and youth.
You don't have to be a biker to enjoy Big Bike Weekend - daily and two day passes for walk in spectators. (Does not include parking at Convention Center).
A portion of the proceeds benefit local nonprofit organizations.
