NorCal Voyagers Club
Tony Curtis
Vice President

Hi, I'm Tony Curtis. I was born in Bellflower, California, September, 1956. I stayed in SoCal till 1963 when we moved to the Sacramento area. I grew up in the country doing all the things farm kids do, raising critters & doing chores. I got the motorcycle bug at the age of 10 when new kids moved in down the road. Their grandparents had a pair of Honda Trail 55s they would let us ride. I had a paper route and saved for my 1st ride, it was a very used Hodaka 90 (didn't last long). Then I saved enough (with my parents help) to buy my first NEW bike, a yellow Suzuki TS90 Honcho. A few other enduro bikes followed. Then in my Junior high school year, Dad got the bug & we both got matching Suzuki GT380s (two-stroke, 6-speed Triples).

About this time my attentions turned to a sweet girl I met on a blind date in September, 1973. The date was a success and Gail became my wife in June of 1974. We rode the GT380 for a while, took a few overnight trips and sold it a year later before our son was born, then came our daughter. About 3 years after that we picked up a 1975 Honda 750-4. We put about 8,000 miles on it. Riding solo, I had a accident on I-80 in which only the good Lord (and my Bell Star Helmet) saved me from major injuries. My family mattered more to me than I had the need to ride so I hung up my helmet... Fast-forward to April, 2003: kids out on their own, Gail saw a used 91 XII for sale and said let's take a look. Yep, the bug's back... I rode it home on April 9th. We've put about 15,000 miles on it. Almost a year later I found a XII with only a little over 3,000 miles, & March 17, 2004 (St. Patty's Day) we picked up our Green '99 XII. Gail & I have since put over 100,000 Smiles on it riding together. I met up with the NorCalVoyagers in 2003. My wife & I became members in August, 2005. We love to camp and travel and look forward to many more adventures together.

See you on the road & remember... ATGATT
