Northern California Voyagers
Ray Walls, President

Date: February 26, 2005

Subject: Club Meeting Minutes

The monthly meeting of the Northern California Voyagers was held at the Woolgrowers Restaurant in Los Banos, California. The following members were present:

Ray Walls, President Bob Joyner, Secretary
Fritz Wells Dale Bird
Brian Coldicott Don Brewbaker
Fred Andrew Lee House
Bill Owens Dennis Ellingson
Kevin Gilpatrick Bill Burns
Richard Mack

The meeting was called to order by President Ray Walls at 12:46 PM.

Minutes from the January meeting were read by Secretary Bob Joyner.

Treasures report: The treasury report was read by Ray Walls who advised the members that the club treasury currently has a balance of $1,832.17. Ray did not advise of any outstanding bills at this time.

Activities Report: The activities report was provided by Don Brewbaker. Don said he will start doing the 50/50 drawing again at the meetings. Don also said the Bylaws require a Safety Officer so he will be appointing one each month. The appointed person must come up with a safety item/theme and present it to the members. Fritz Wells was appointed for February; however, due to time constraints he was not able to present his items. Therefore, his safety items will be presented at the March meeting.

Don talked about the ride to the AVA annual event in Durango Colorado. Several questions were raised about the BBQ and train ride that is available in Durango. Don said anyone interested in going to the BBQ should make reservations, but be sure to reference to the AVA.

Don reminded the people who are from the Sacramento area, that there is a ride to Marysville in March.

Concern was raised about having the March event/campout in Los Banos on the 19th and returning on the 26th for the Club Meeting. Because the 26th is on Easter weekend, it was decided by all that, the meeting will be held on the 19th at the Basalt Campground, in conjunction with the campout. The meeting will start at noon. If the weather is bad and the campout/event has to be cancelled, the meeting will still be held on the 19th but at the Woolgrowers Restaurant in Los Banos.

Ray talked about the new clothing for the club. Brewbaker modeled one of the new tank tops (was that a sight to see!). Ray said they have been ordered and should be delivered the first part of March.

Dennis Ellingson ask about prices but Ray did not have the price list with him and will provide that information at a later date.

Ray ask if anyone would be interested in buying a reflective, light weight jacket. The idea got a cool reception from the members present because of the approximate $60.00 price tag. The idea will be tabled until the next meeting.

Ray said the new club flags will be available soon. They will be black with stitching provided so they can be slipped over an antenna or flag pole. Don Brewbaker said the AVA web site has flag poles available for a reasonable price.

New business

Dennis Ellingson talked about the event he is sponsoring in September. He said as the event gets closer he needs to know how many are coming and if anyone is planning on bringing a RV so he can make room for them.

Brian Coldicott talked about brush/wind guards that protect your hands. He said he likes them and that they can be obtained from J.C. Whitney.

Bob Joyner gave away a new clear visor for a HJC HJ-07 helmet, Don Brewbaker took the prize.

The meeting adjourned at 1:30PM
