Attending guests:
Members/guest attending event, but not at the meeting:
Sue Springfield
The meeting was called to order by President Ray Walls at 1:23 PM.
Since there was not a meeting in March, minutes from the February meeting were read by Secretary Bob Joyner.
Treasures report: The treasury report was read by Wayne Bright who advised the members that the club is solvent and the treasury currently has a balance of $1,951.41. Wayne did not advise of any outstanding bills at this time.
Activities Report: The activities report was provided by Don Brewbaker. Don said since Ray forgot to bring the tickets for the 50/50 drawing, he will start doing the 50/50 drawing again at the next meeting. As a safety issue, Don talked about an article written by a MD who is also a motorcycle rider. The article discussed the problems of skin irritation, rash and pain as a result of long hot hours in the saddle.
Commonly referred to as, “Monkey Butt” the rash and irritation can be lessened by the type of clothes one wears and specific types of powders and/or lotions. For more information go to, www.docflash.com.
Dennis Ellingson talked about his event in September and again ask that anyone planning on coming up in a large RV, contact him ahead of time so he can make room for parking.
Old business
Questions were raised about the new polo shirts. Ray said to contact him and provide sizes and type of shirt requested.
The issue of reflective jackets that had been tabled at the February meeting was discussed. Due to the high price, the jacket issue has been dismissed.
In regards to the flags, Ray said he had contacted the vendor, but apparently there had been a death in the family and the flags were on back order. Ray expects to get them possible by Monday the 18th.
New business
Bob Joyner talked about the previously mandated club CB channel, designated as ch. 12. Bob said apparently it is being used by truck drivers as an alternate channel. This resulted in a large amount of radio traffic, not to mention the profanity used by some truck drivers. Several members in the group also said they have run across the same problem. It was voted unanimously to change the clubs designated channel to that of the AVA’s, which is Ch. 24. This change is effective immediately and anyone with CB capabilities attending any club event shall monitor/use Ch 24.
The meeting adjourned at 1:49PM
