Hello Friends & NCVC members.
We held our September meeting on the 9-9-01, we hashed out a lot of things that were left hanging on the poker run, and I am proud to say we are almost ready for the big event.
We have or will have passed out over 1000 flyers by the time you read this, I figure if we can get five people for every 100 flyers we pass out , we will be able to call this a success.
We may not make any money, but we will definitely be known all over Northern California and parts of Nevada.
If this works out, we may start up an annual ride, if we can get more members involved I know we will.
We have decided to start having our monthly meeting separate from our monthly event, so starting on October the 13th, we will have our first meeting, all meetings will be held at the café Orleans, in Modesto on the second Saturday of every month, at 12:00PM.
If you need directions in getting there, go to our web site < http://members.tripod.com/ncvoyagers/ >
You will find easy to follow directions there and you will also find a message board, please feel free to post any messages you may have and if you have any suggestions to improve the club, we would dearly love to hear them, you do not need to be a member of the club to make these suggestions.
The monthly event for Sept is a picnic ride to the Frank Raines county park, which is straight west of Patterson , which is just off I5, take Del Puerto canyon road from Patterson on out to the park.
What you need to do is gather up the little woman and a picnic lunch and come on down and we will have an old time family get together for about two or three hours than we will ride up to the Lick observatory on top of Mt Hamilton and let everyone look through the giant telescope.
From there we will take a ride down the west side of the mountain to road rider after market motor cycle sales & service store.
If you have trouble figuring out how to get there, Stuart will have explicit directions on how to get there from here, (where you live ) on the website.
What this is all about is getting there on your own, would like to see everyone show up no later than 10:00AM with lunch in hand, this will just be all BS and no business at all, we will be way out in the country away from all the traffic and noise.
Stuart has made up a bunch of membership cards with every one’s name and membership number on them, this cost him over $50.00 out of his pocket, we are going to mail them out to each member, and we are requesting that you send in $1.35 to Leland House for your membership card and postage, I have the cards now and will send them out as soon as I can get around to it.
Since we no longer have a vice president to assist me I have to do most of the work by myself, Lee used to help me some, but he is working so many hours a week he has no time to help either, John was going to help me too, but now that he has retired, he is so busy around the house doing woman’s work , laundry, dishes, scrubbing floors. Polishing the antiques , cooking & etc, he has no time left for me or even fishing.
Anyway I will get them out asap and if you feel they aren’t worth the money please return them to Stuart.
You can find Leland’s address on your membership roster, and if you have misplaced it you can find it on the website or I will send you one out with this letter.
Would sure like to see some more of our members getting involved with the poker run, we have all the volunteers we need to put the run on, but we need some of you to make the run it’s self , (participate) in the event.
This may be the last event we have for this year that involves motorcycle riding, you know the rainy season is upon us already, and let’s hope and pray we don’t get rained out.
We are going to have hamburgers, hot dogs, sodas, baked beans, garden salad, potato salad , pasta, bread, and there was something else but I can’t recall what it was right now, plus the VFW will be selling beer and I believe wine.
Stuart is bringing out his sound system so we can have music under the stars and there is a large dance floor for those of you who are light of foot.
We will have hot showers for those who want to camp out with us, and if you would rather camp out in a hotel or motel, go to our website, Stuart has hotels & motels in the area up on the web.
This should just about cover everything we have going at this time, so I will say adios and hope to see you on the 21st at the park.
Uncle Ray
