From Ray ("Uncle Ray") Walls, NORTHERN

     Hello Friends & members:

Since we are running a little late on our October newsletter I thought I should enlighten you on what we have scheduled for this month. I know we have waited too longto put this out, but you can't put it out untilyou have it. We have scheduled a tour of the Apple Hill area up by Placerville for this weekend. Everything will happen on Saturday the 14th.

We have some members coming in on Friday night to the Shingle Springs KOA campgrounds. If you need directions how to get there, call the campgrounds at 800-562-4197, or try following my directions: The campground is about six miles west of Placerville on Hwy 50. Exit north off Hwy 50 onto Shingle Springs Road. Once you are on the north side of the FWY turn west onto Rock Bard Road and stay on it until you come to the end of the road. (NOTE: Do not get off onto Ponderosa Road.)

We plan to leave the campgrounds in a group on bikes or cars, whichever you come on/in, at 10:00 A.M. We will ride up to the Apple Hill area and park. From there we will take the shuttle bus they provide all day for only $3. We are doing it this way due to gravel drives and roads in the area. We have a room reserved at Denny's restaurant in the town of Cameron Park which is a couple of miles west of the campgrounds. Exit Hwy 50 at Cameron Park Drive and go south about 1.5 blocks where you will see Denny's. We have a meeting room reserved from 7:00 'til 9:00 Saturday night.

Now, back to the tour. I know some of you will get tired or get separated from the main group. If you do, don't worry about it, just go about your business and leave when you want to. But please tell someone that you are leaving so we won't all be out looking for you. If you do leave we will see you at Denny's at 7:00 p.m. for a nice sit down dinner, some bs'ing, tire kicking and general bragging about our most daring motorcycle feats. And most of all we will be getting acquainted with each other. After dinner we will have a short meeting and after that we can continue our friendship making until 9:00 p.m., or until they throw us out.

          Thanks much,
